Vo Chi Cong Inter-agency Area
In the vibrant heart of Hanoi stands the Vo Chi Cong Inter-agency Area. This government headquarters contains eight departments and branches of Hanoi City. With a scale comprising three blocks of 27, 16, and 7 floors respectively, spanning across 7,720 square meters, this project is a testament to innovation and efficiency.
This modern headquarters project envisioned a façade structure that not only reduced carbon footprint but also prioritised occupant comfort, natural light, and visual appeal.
Considered factors in the design of the unitised curtain wall system:
1. Modular Design and Prefabrication: This approach streamlines the construction process, reduces on-site labour and time, and minimised disruptions to building occupants.
2. Structural Performance: Unitised curtain wall systems are engineered to withstand various structural loads, including wind, seismic forces, and thermal expansion. This robust structural design enhances the overall stability and safety of the building envelope.
3. Thermal Performance: Unitised curtain wall systems significantly impact a building’s thermal performance by minimising heat loss or gain through the façade. Advanced insulation materials and low-emissivity coatings in the glass are integrated into the system to enhance energy efficiency and indoor comfort.
4. Acoustic Control: Unitised curtain wall systems can incorporate acoustic insulation materials and double glazing to attenuate sound transmission, mitigating external noise and enhancing occupant productivity and concentration.
5. Maintenance and Longevity: Unitised curtain wall systems require minimal ongoing maintenance compared to traditional curtain wall systems.
AGC Façade Solution: Stopsol Supersilver Dark Blue
Stopsol Supersilver Dark Blue has a cool, neutral reflective colour, unlike other glass suppliers. Viewed from different angles, the colour tone can become lighter or darker Blue.
Stopsol Supersilver is available in various tints, offering flexibility in design, allowing architects to tailor the glass façade to suit the aesthetic requirements of each project. Whether it’s a sleek modern skyscraper or a timeless classical structure, Stopsol Supersilver enhances the architectural beauty and elevates the overall design concept.
Stopsol Supersilver Dark Blue not only reduces solar heat transmission and glare but also promotes energy savings and thermal comfort within the building. By allowing ample natural light to filter through while minimising heat gain, it creates a comfortable indoor environment that promotes productivity, enhances mood, and fosters a sense of well-being among building occupants.
AGC’s Stopsol Supersilver Dark Blue emerged as the preferred glass solution due to its solid solar control properties, thermal insulation, and aesthetic appeal. The seamless integration into the unitised curtain wall system emphasised structural integrity and compatibility. Processed in the local market, Stopsol Supersilver Dark Blue met government requirements for performance and reduced carbon footprint. Post-installation performance evaluation demonstrated significant energy savings, enhanced indoor comfort, and visual enhancement, validating the efficacy of Stopsol Supersilver Dark Blue.
The successful integration of AGC’s Stopsol Supersilver Dark Blue into the unitised curtain wall system at the Vo Chi Cong Inter-agency Area demonstrates harmony with innovative design and engineering excellence. This case study underscores the importance of careful consideration and technical expertise in achieving optimal facade solutions for architectural projects.
